Period-authentic Kitchen

Period charm, modern functionality.

Is it original? No, but many guests ask so, fooled by the authentic details. The kitchen, dining area, and laundry room in this 1920s house were separated by walls that left each room feeling small, dark, cramped, and cut off from the beautiful back yard. Removing walls not only made for a larger and more flexible space, but allowed for light and air to flow into the house. Along with a new deck and enlarged windows, the changes frame views of the backyard and bring the outdoors in.
As we have said, our preferred style for new construction is Warm Modern, but it is not the solution for everything. We are not opposed to traditional design as long as it is done authentically. If you have a traditional home, we are happy to work with you to find the appropriate style for your renovation.
