House on a Cliff

Reaching new heights.

You found a property with an incredible view. But can it actually be built on? If it can, we’ll make it happen. We specialize in solving the most complex problems on the most challenging sites. Houses on steep, or even moderately sloping sites, involve complex geometry. Poor design can result in excessive site and foundation work, increasing construction costs. The best designs work with the slope…rather than fight it. The multiple levels flow seamlessly on the inside while the home steps gracefully down the hill. At WMW, we believe a house should honor what is special about its site and rise above the ordinary.
This project, designed in collaboration with Miles Berger, Architect, was approved in 2019 and is currently under construction.

Warm modern.

What we like about modern architecture is the open floor plans, floor-to-ceiling glass, and indoor-outdoor living, just to name a few. But some modern architecture can seem cold and museum-like: endless white surfaces and overuse of industrial metals. So we like to warm things up with rich materials such as natural wood and stone but apply them with a modern sensibility.
